Fresh flavors, rolling in

Real Portuguese food, cooked the way it should be — slow pork bifanas, pressed francesinhas, crispy turnovers fresh from the fryer. Found at markets and yards across Dorset.

What we do…

Bifana: Pork collar, slow-braised in white wine, garlic and olive oil until it gives way under a fork. Piled into a soft roll and spooned over with its own braising juices. The sandwich every Portuguese town has its own version of — this one's ours.
Francesinha : Porto's most famous sandwich, and its most serious. Thin-sliced beef , layered up with cheese, chorizo and ham, buried under our francesinha sauce — rich, deep and built over a long simmer. Not a light lunch, and it isn't meant to be.
Prawn Turnover: Golden shell, filled with prawns in a rich, seasoned sauce. Fried fresh so the outside crackles and the filling stays loose and hot. If you only try one, make it this one.
Chicken & Chorizo Turnover: Golden half-moon turnovers with a creamy chicken and chorizo filling. Crumbed and fried to order so the shell shatters and the middle is still steaming. The pastry Portuguese kids grow up on, and the one adults never stop ordering.
Pão de Queijo: Little cheese breads, crisp on the outside and properly stretchy within. Baked through the day so you get them warm. Available classic, or with chorizo running through them for something with more backbone.
Filo Nata: Our own invention, and you won't find it anywhere else. Pastel de nata custard, set firm, wrapped in filo and fried from frozen — the outside goes crisp and shattering while the centre turns to molten custard. All the flavour of the classic, built completely differently.
